It is a post-disaster support program planned after the February 6 Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes. The program is implemented with different class teachers assigned to the disaster area every year starting from the 2023-2024 academic year. Its main purpose is to improve education in a holistic and sustainable way in the villages in the earthquake region where teachers at the beginning of their careers work.
We bring together village teachers who are in the early years of their careers and who work in villages in the earthquake zone with experienced mentor teachers.
Within the scope of the program, village teachers who are in the first three years of their profession will be trained by mentor teachers who have teaching experience in villages and rural neighborhoods. mentoring we ensure that they receive it.
Through participating teachers, well-being of familiesWe aim to support children's development, strengthen family communication and school-family interaction, and inform parents about child development.
Teachers' children . We care about them becoming aware of their skills, learning good practices regarding these skills and incorporating them into their own practices.
We aim to develop children's social skills and their potential to understand and manage their emotions. In this context, teachers who receive theoretical and practical training on social and emotional learning implement a structured education program to support these skills of their students in their own classes.
Mentoring Activities
Participating teachers hold one-on-one mentoring meetings in the first term of the program and group mentoring meetings in the second term. Meetings are held online and at regular intervals, on a day and time determined by each mentor and mentee. Mentor teachers are supported by KODA instructors throughout the process with online support meetings and supervision.
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Establishing Effective School-Family Relationship Trainings for Teachers
In the training camp we hold with mentor teachers, we provide mentoring, SBL and effective school-family relationship training in order to strengthen their skills in coping with the effects of the post-disaster period.
In the training camp to be held with mentee teachers, we offer basic content that will support quality education in the earthquake zone and its surroundings, as well as SDÖ and effective school-family relationship training.
Teachers in their first years of their careers will receive training in both IBL and effective school-family relationships at the winter camp.
Participating teachers continue the process with online supportive training throughout the year.
Family Trainings
Through teachers participating in the program, families in the earthquake area participate in effective school-family relationship training.
Social Emotional Learning Trainings for Children
Children in classrooms in the earthquake zone attend IBL trainings implemented by participating teachers.
