Family Studies in Rural Areas

Why?When families, as the primary educators of children, fail to adequately support them during their education process, serious problems may occur in the future. To reduce such problems, simply strengthening the child's relationship with the teacher at school might not be enough. Family education plays a significant role in strengthening the child's relationship with their family and in continuing the learning process out of the school and teachers. As KODA, we regard that our responsibility to meet the above-mentioned needs is to organize training that will enable families in rural areas to take responsibility for the education of their children and to educate the trainers who will provide these trainings.

How? Since the Rural Family Studies program was launched during the pandemic period, we first started the trainings via Teleconference, considering the pandemic conditions and living conditions in rural areas. We can include the families we started to support with training sessions once a week, in in-depth training via teleconference as well. Upon the mitigation of pandemic measures, we started our face-to-face family trainings in Bursa Orhaneli. Together with the educators we have trained, we will continue our face-to-face family trainings in Bursa and Hatay during the XNUMX-XNUMX education period. In our family trainings, we talk about the importance of the child feeling valuable and how families can ensure this, how children can adapt to the new period when schools start again, and how families can support their children's behavior in a constructive and positive way.

What Are We Doing? With the trainings we provide for families living in villages, we;

– Encourage families to transform their negative attitudes and behaviors,

– Strengthen communication within the family,

– Ensure that families use their own resources in the best possible way,

– Strengthen the family-child relationship by raising awareness of families on issues related to child development and education.

As KODA, we care about the child's well-being and that they receive love and support from their families at every age and developmental stage, starting from preschool period.
