We wanted to prepare this page for you, our valued stakeholders, who have devotedly worked with us in KODA's various programs throughout the year and made the continuity of our activities possible.
This page is for the unseen but influential people in the field, that is, you.
At KODA, we often talk about a teacher's KODA journey. We believe this journey is a never-ending process of learning, experience, and collective growth.
We are delighted to walk alongside you, who contribute to the sustainability of this journey, sometimes taking an active role in different programs, and sometimes strengthening the bond between our participants and KODA.
From academics to educators, mentors to mentor teachers, Teacher Community Managers to content creators, you all form the foundation of KODA's work in the field. You share our dream of equal educational opportunities for children living in rural areas, dedicating your focus, energy, and hard work to this dream.
The year 2024-2025 was this meaningful and powerful thanks to your contribution.
I'm glad to have you.
To many more for #BetterEducationInTheVillage.
Our Teacher Community Leaders (TCUs), part of our Teacher Community Program, are directly responsible for the effective implementation of the program in the field. Working as classroom teachers in villages and rural neighborhoods, TCUs closely monitor the needs of their communities and collaborate with the KODA team to manage the process.
Ensures local dissemination of the program and monitors teacher participation. Maintains communication with National Education Directorates, plans and conducts meetings. Facilitates training, supports instructors, and actively manages communication channels. Furthermore, monitors community development, monitors teacher well-being, and provides support as needed.
The teachers in charge conducted the meetings in a very welcoming and supportive environment. It was a gathering where everyone shared their experiences, exchanged ideas, and developed solutions together.
Participant in the Teacher Communities Program.

Mentor Advisors (MD)
Mentor Advisors are classroom teachers who have mentored in the program for at least one year, completed Social Emotional Learning (SEL) training, and are prepared to mentor. They provide support to mentor teachers before and after meetings between mentors and mentees throughout the year. They also monitor the process, strengthen communication between mentors and mentees, and provide guidance when needed. They play an active role in the development and sustainability of the program.
Mentor Teachers
Mentor teachers are classroom teachers with at least eight years of experience working in rural areas. They provide mentoring to new teachers, providing them with their experience and supporting their personal development and professional motivation.
I would like to thank this program for helping me see hope and excitement in the eyes of my friends who are new to the profession, instead of exhaustion and pessimism.

Social emotional learning (SEL) enables both children and adults to develop the skills of self-awareness, expressing their emotions, establishing healthy relationships with others, and acting together.
We took a new step in 2024 to reach more teachers with SDÖ, one of the cornerstones of KODA's education approach.
We started the teaching journey with teachers who are proficient in IBL practices.
From 2025 onwards, we aim to reach more teachers through these teachers.

University education faculties lack practical training on teaching in villages, particularly in multigrade classrooms. With the First Step to the Village Program, we aim to make prospective teachers more motivated and prepared to work in village schools upon graduation. To achieve this goal, we developed a curriculum that can be implemented in education faculties. This curriculum incorporates content that integrates academics with fieldwork, fieldwork practices, and KODA's accumulated knowledge of village schools. Throughout the program, we aim to facilitate the lives of prospective teachers when they first are assigned to a village.
Thanks to the program, I met students face-to-face as a teacher for the first time. I overcame my nervousness. I gained experience for my internship and it positively changed my perspective on village schools.
