CHANGE PROJECT STARTED IN THE VILLAGE
The "Village Change Begins with Innovation in Education" project has been launched in Diyarbakır. The project, a collaboration between the Karacadağ Development Agency, the Diyarbakır Provincial Directorate of National Education, the Şanlıurfa Provincial Directorate of National Education, and the Village Schools Exchange Network, aims to train 60 teachers working in villages as part of the Rural Holistic and Inclusive Education Capacity Building Program.
THE GOAL OF EDUCATION IS TO CREATE QUALITY LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
At a program held at Kayapınar Adnan Menderes Anatolian High School, Nevzat Can, coordinator of the "Change in a Village Begins with Innovation in Education" project, stated, "We aim to support the professional and pedagogical development of teachers and create high-quality and innovative learning environments in rural areas." Can stated that their primary goal is to strengthen teachers' professional skills, adding, "Our teachers will receive training in eight different areas. They will transfer what they learn to their students and share it with parents in the new academic year."
EMPHASIS ON CREATIVITY IN EDUCATION
Zeynep Yıldız, one of the teachers who participated in the training, expressed the importance of such training for them. Yıldız said, “We are currently receiving music education here. With this education, we will foster children's creative thinking. We will bring together the relationship between nature and music. We will blend and synthesize them.” Classroom teacher Abbas Sargül, noting that he has been working in village schools for 17 years, said, “We support this type of training. We will have the opportunity to apply the training we receive in our own classrooms. I hope this type of training will continue.”
